Margaret Kogos Assistant Publicist

Margaret is a composer, pianist and guitarist originally from New Orleans, Louisiana. Since graduating from New York University in 2018 with a degree in Music Theory and Composition, she has worked in music publicity and various administrative positions, while also being active as a composer in the New Music scene.

Margaret first worked with DJC Records in October 2019 to help bring attention to the Kickstarter campaign for our label launch. Since returning to DJC this spring, she has helped with several successful press campaigns, especially to bring attention to our fundraiser to get PPE into prisons amidst the Covid-19 crisis.

As a composer, she has attended numerous festivals over the past few years, including the Yarn/Wire festival, the Line Upon Line Composer’s festival, SPLICE festival and the So Percussion Summer Institute at Princeton University, where she attended as an ASCAP Composer’s Fellow. She is also an active singer-songwriter and has performed in DJC Record's PPE Into Prisons benefit shows.

In Fall 2020, she begins her studies towards an M.A in Media Arts and as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Performing Arts Technology department at the University of Michigan. When she is not playing, writing or listening to music, she is probably eating, sleeping, reading or traveling. Or maybe at the park, enjoying the sunshine.
